Regal is unique in that one of our two Co-Founders, Dr. David Kim, is a board-certified emergency physician, with over 15 years of clinical practice. Alongside Dave, our core investor base has substantial clinical expertise, with over 25 of our investors being healthcare professionals. As a result, we understand the challenges of clinical practice and the importance of clinical excellence. We will never let business decisions affect medical practice. A trusted adviser to many of the leading healthcare companies in the United States, Jon is a valuable resource to our entrepreneurs as they build their businesses.
We Are Entrepreneurs and Operators
In addition to being a practicing physician, Dr. Kim is a serial entrepreneur. Dave started from scratch (and sold to private equity) three highly successful healthcare services companies:
- Premier Care Urgent Care started with one clinic and grew to become the leading urgent care provider in the NY market. The company then merged with CityMDand Dave spearheaded the growth of CityMD to over 80 locations at the time of its successful sale to a leading private equity firm.
- Dental365 began with one dental office in 2014 and has grown to over 35 locations, becoming the leading branded dental services provider in the Tri-State market. Regal invested in Dental 365 in 2018.
- Progressive Emergency Physicians is an emergency room management company that started with one hospital contract in 2013 and grew into the leading independent emergency room management company in the Northeast prior to its acquisition by Varsity Healthcare Partners and Regal in 2019.
