Ex-Jefferies Healthcare Chief Goes On Deal Tear With New Firm

A former senior healthcare banker and doctor-entrepreneur have been busy striking deals behind the scenes over the last several months.

“Regal Healthcare Capital Partners, which co-founder and general partner Jon Santemma likened to a “friends and family” office, has closed on four platform deals since its founding less than nine months ago. Its investments span across four subsectors: fertility, retail dental services, autism and revenue cycle management.

Santemma, who earlier this year retired as a managing director and the global head of healthcare investment banking at Jefferies, launched Regal alongside industry entrepreneur David Kim. The latter’s entrepreneurial background includes co-founding CityMD’s predecessor Premier Care Urgent Care.

After spending 20-plus years in the healthcare investment banking business, it was Warburg Pincus’s purchase of CityMD in 2017 – for a reported $600 million – that put things in motion, Santemma said.”
